Three-Step Egg Custard Pie
This ” Three-Step Egg Custard Pie ” brings back good memories of my childhood. This pie taste really good that it’s easy to assume that the ingredients are hard to find. No, not at all. The ingredients are basic or can easily be bought at the grocery stores.
Just the other day, my wife was looking to make egg custard pie just because she’s been longing to eat one for the longest time. I got excited because it’s one of my favorite desserts of all time.
Egg custard pie reminds me of my childhood. Back in the Philippines, I would always buy a slice of this pie at the nearest bakery where I used to live. For me, I could live everyday by eating egg custard pie alone. That’s how I loved the pie in the past. I still love it up to this day.
When my wife said she wanted to make one right away, I immediately looked up the recipe online. I did find two recipes that looked just like the pie I used to eat. I chose the one from Allrecipes.com because it only had 3 steps versus the one on a blog that had more than 20 steps. Yes, there were 20 steps just to make egg custard pie. Gee whiz.
Luckily, we had all the ingredients she needed.
She made the pie right away. In less than 2 hours, the pie was made and my wife, kid, and I were waiting for it to cool. Once cooled, we didn’t even hesitate to dig in and eat it. I think I ate at least 2 slices while my daughter ate 2 slices. My wife only took a spoonful and that’s it.
I tell you…. It was delicious. It was heaven.
It really reminded me of the pie I used to eat. It brought back good memories. This recipe sure became a keeper.
